#tweettheraven

Through my twitter handle – @bookshelfbattle (which you should totally be following for tweets of a booktastic nature) – I have started a new thread – #tweettheraven

Yes, throughout October, I am going to tweet the text of Edgar Allan Poe’s The Raven.

I’m doing this either a) to educate the masses about a beautiful work of poetry or b) I have no life.

I haven’t decided yet.

I guess there could be C) Both…but let’s go for A) because too many people don’t give classic works a chance! 😃

“The Raven” is remarkable to me, because it evokes a really creepy mood without anything that scary happening during the poem. The raven is grim but all it does is sit there and croak at him. I’m going to have the first verse stuck in my head all day!
