Pop quiz, hot shots.
I give you a book. The title is “The Betrayal of John.”
Don’t think too hard, just give me your instant reaction.
When you read this title, do you:
A) Think the book is about how John betrayed someone
OR
B) Think the book is about how John was betrayed
Just a question to help me with a project I have going on at Bookshelf Battle HQ
Thank you, my noble guinea pigs. Your assistance to the Bookshelf Battle cause is most appreciated.
How John was betrayed
thank you
My mind says B.
thank you
B for me also.
thanks
I thought NEITHER! I thought “O dog he’s gone to writing bible history!!”
Why was John betrayed in the bible? I’m a blasphemous heathen I don’t know these things.
John was betrayed. Haha my mind went straight to the Bible, too.
Apparently I should have picked Fred.
B for me too and yes I ALSO thought of the Bible!
I though Dear John letters… So I agree with B
Good show starring Judd Hirsh
I think of John the Baptist!
Was he betrayed? As I mentioned to Maureen above I’m a heathen that doesn’t know these things.
Yes and he lost his head for it!
I don’t know if it was betrayal but I reverted to the Baptist too.
“No, No,” says Salome, “his head please!”
So she danced with the head round the Court,
And bonfires on John’s Eve remind us
That dancing is dangerous sport. [Donagh Mac Donagh]
I also thought B. And it brought up associations with the Gospel of John, though since that John doesn’t get betrayed it gave me vague ideas that the story might be an expansion/behind-the-scenes/retelling of some part of the Bible accounts.
A for me – and I also went straight to a biblical theme.
Yeah apparently I picked a bad example. I’ll have to wait awhile and try again.
