What is the best video game ever?
I’m asking my 3.5 readers to put their choice in the comments and if they want to, explain why.
The Yeti votes for Tapper. He loves Tapper. So much Tapper.

“Pour the beverage on the right…slide it down to the left…the perfect game to help children develop obsessive compulsive disorder and alcoholism!”
– Tapper, 1983, Game by Bally Midway
Hmmm…well, I suppose for the record, we must note that Tapper apparently did not work in a bar but rather, a soda fountain, where he poured sodas (in case you missed the big “soda” sign.) So, no alcoholism. Just raging caffeine addictions and sugar buzzes.
Half-Life. A game I played in college while I was loaded with physics and chemistry classes. It was like an interactive movie that made me jump out of my seat while I was playing it. It also had a very well written story.
It was good. I remember playing it a bit but I hit a snag, couldn’t figure it out, gave up. That happens sometimes with me and video games unfortunately.
San Andreas surely. It is a perfect slice of nostalgia and the highlight of the GTA series. A cult gaming monument.
It was great. Take away all the guns, violence, and debauchery, GTA’s main achievement is to create such a massive world, one so big the player has to consult maps, drive, fly, etc just to get around. Plenty to do and explore.
lol uh boy I remember this game from back in the day. I played it on arcades and now I own it on some Midway collection I think.
The Yeti can’t get enough of it.
The Last of Us
Is that about zombies?
Not much. This is a fungus, what is good about this game is the combination between a good story and a good gameplay
I vote for Knights of the Old Republic. Or MarioKart, but only if you have latent aggression issues.
I wish I’d played Knights. I played it a little bit, thought it was confusing, gave up. Ever since I’ve heard so many good things. Reminds me of Mass Effect, which I loved.
Yup, both Bioware. Good stuff.
