Daily Discussion with BQB – are the muppets outdated technology?

The latest incarnation of the Muppet show was cancelled after one season.

In their heyday the Muppets appealed to kids because they were talking puppets and adults who were amazed by what was new tech at the time.

But then came CGI.  I want the muppets to find their own little spot in this world.

Where do you think it is 3.5?

An On-line presence. I liked the new show, and miss the old show. Maybe a Netflix original.

    • That could be good. And the last two movies they did were decent. Alas, a puppet that looks like it is walking around by itself isn’t as impressive today as it was 20-30 years ago.

If it is funny and engaging, people will watch. The recently cancelled show, which placed long beloved fictional characters in uncomfortably farcical approximations of real life situations, was neither funny nor engaging. A revived, old-formula variety show would have succeeded in a way that making it a bizarre soap opera could never.
