Hey 3.5 readers.
Ahem. SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS!
Lots of stuff going on. Jon Snow’s back and to me, he basically did the ultimate shitty job walk out.
A brother of the Knight’s Watch’s watch ends when he dies, and Jon Snow did die, so…yup. It’s all legal. And why should he stay when those douches tried to kill him?
Assumedly, he’ll go take back Winterfell, having the best claimed to it as the eldest Stark child (even though as he is often reminded, he’s a bastard.)
Or is he? A flashback gave us the beginning of a glimpse as to Jon Snow’s true past.
Hopefully, that’ll be revisited next week.
What say you, 3.5 readers?
Jon needs to have a group. Winterfell’s army is low and banner men are gone. He can’t prepare for winter without a posse. I know forms fact Malissandre won’t let him out of her sight. She’s got that dreamy eyes stare. Furious the vision of the tower ended. I want to see her in there. It’s so pivotal!!! Will the God Of Many Faces pit Arya against Jon? What about Ricon?!? Now he’s caught up with Ramsey, that’s a nightmare. And ANOTHER diowolf down?!?! We need them for the war! Stop killing the wolves you dorks!!! Sorry I spelled all the characters incorrectly, I’m in a tizzy, Can the watch order s group of men to escort Jon for any reason?!? That might work.
Well it also turns the tables on the show a bit as we’ve all been rooting for Daeny and now we can root for Jon Snow. Hopefully Jon and the Khaleesi come together as they’re related.
Agree with Tamoja – Jon is free of the Watch now, he needs backers. I think the Wildlings will follow him, he’ll meet up with Sansa, they’ll raise the rest of the North and retake Winterfell, then settle in to draw up battle plans for the fight against the Others.
And I am 85% sure that wasn’t really Shaggydog’s head. Direwolf heads are huge and I am probably just way too invested in a personal fantasy of Shaggydog leaping out of a wall and taking 45 show-minutes to eat Ramsay.
Rickon’s wolf’s name was Shaggydog? I feel like this is another case of George RR Martin coming up with exotic names and then once in awhile he phones a name in.
When Ramsey asked “How do I know this is Rickon?” I wondered why he didn’t follow it up with, “How do I know this is Rickon’s wolf?”
Sheesh. Rickon. Forgot all about him. He’s like that little sister on Family Matters who was on the first season and then just disappeared. Or Richie Cunningham’s older brother. Or any sibling on a sitcom that didn’t test well so the producers just decide that the sibling never comes down for breakfast anymore and hope that viewers will forget.
Rickon was like 3 when he named his Dire Wolf, so I forgave him. I was 9 when I named my dog Batman. Robb’s was Gray Wind, which makes sense because he thinks it sounds cool, Jon’s was Ghost because Jon lives beyond death (omg I just realized that). I never had strong feelings about Rickon but maybe he grows up cool. I’ll wait and see. I agree, Ramsey was a bit too trusting as far as ‘Who is this.’ Not sure how the writers could confirm for both of us without showing Shaggydog, but I still think that they just killed some other wolf and Shaggydog’s still stashed away. I hope so. Enough Dire Wolves have died. Won’t somebody think of the Dire Wolves?
First off I love those figurines. Might I trouble you for your source?
To your point I was hoping they would do that with Jon, and I loved how he literally said, “My watch is ended,” before stalking off like a boss. I am severely hoping that Ramsay’s gift of Rickon will be a ruse by the Great Northern Conspiracy, but people rarely get their wishes in the World of Ice and Fire. I (and quite a few others) are growing tired of constantly seeing the Starks stomped on though. Can that family catch no breaks? I know the seeds of disaster were sown long ago, but must ALL the fruit be bitter?
I got mine at Target. You could probably find them on Amazon or something. I pretend I have to get these toys for professional blogging purposes.
Where was Rickon anyway? I thought he was with Bran? I don’t remember where he was last seen on the show before Ramsey got a hold of him.
Yes, the Starks have had a rough go of it. I’m sure if we could talk to GRRM he’d tell us their tale is one of people with tough breaks, who are forced to suffer more than their fair share and then some, and only through hard work, toil and boldness can they pull themselves out of the hole that life has thrown them in. Probably a lesson in there for anyone who feels like life has knocked them around too much.
Meanwhile, I could be wrong, but I got the impression Arya’s trainer is starting to think that, although Arya might be selfish in pursuing her “hit list,” that he might be thinking these wouldn’t be bad sacrifices to the “Many Faced God.”
In the books Rickon was supposedly taken to Skagos by Osha while Bran went beyond the Wall. On the show she took him to the Umbers since I don’t think Skagos is going to figure there. I’m hoping the show is harsher to the Starks than the books.
Ah I tell myself that, too! I found some abs actually bought a Hound from a friend he adores him. The ones I really want are super expensive though. There’s a Tyrion who is a replica of the indomitable Peter Dinklage. Alas he’s near $300. There’s an equally impressive Jon Snow and Jaime, as well. I have a funko pop of the latter, but I’d love a few of these more realistic figures.
And I agree about Jaqen and Arya! Forgot to add that. She may be sent on a mission soon.
