I dunno. WordPress has always started the day the night before for me and I’ve never been smart enough to realize if it does this on purpose or if there is a way to change it. I stuck with it because it helps me with my once a day post challenge. I’ve been posting once a day since Jan 1, 2015 and it helps when the day starts the night before.
