A Scarlett Johansson robot?
Yes please.
When can I order one on Amazon?
BQB here, 3.5 readers and I’m just taking a peak at the Ghost in the Shell trailer, the film based off of the Japanese manga series of the same name.
Looks cool, I suppose for those of you into Japanese cartoons (that’s one nerd trend that never appealed to me but to each their own) this won’t be new to you but it’s new to me and that’s why I dig it, it looks like something fresh, that the general moviegoing public hasn’t seen before (though apparently there was a toon version of the movie in 1995.)
It looks like it has just a hint of Blade Runner influence if you ask me.
What say you, 3.5 readers?
I will be watching this because it was filmed where I live – Wellington NZ. There was quite a media splash when Johansson arrived for filming, though she kept very low key throughout. They did some exterior filming in a couple of streets which I’ll be interested to see (I know the streets well). It would be very cool if the movie were up to the standard of Blade Runner, though that’s a very high bar to reach!
Cool….hey didn’t you have an earthquake?
Yes – a Mw 7.5 quake centred in the northern South Island. It generated a tsunami. And then we had torrential rain, gales and floods, all in the space of 48 hours. Central NZ is a bit of a mess just now and Wellington isn’t in good order. I couldn’t get pix of the quake damage down town because it’s still blocked off, but I might tomorrow. There has been a lot of superficial damage. However, the wider issue is the general damage country-wide: Wellington was the biggest city in the zone but there’s a LOT of damage across the northern South Island.
I’m sorry to hear that. You are like my top New Zealand reader so stay safe.
Check out Luc Besson’s ‘Lucy’, also staring the great Scarlett J.
I did I wasn’t a big fan but that’s cool if you liked it. It had its moments but the ending was silly.
I agree with you. Some of it was very cool, but the ending needing life support…
